"waq › n › urna kb › r " Lamma and its Parallels in Spoken Arabic in Galilee Ward Aqil The Academic Arab College of Educa › on , Haifa This ar › cle presents the Syntac › c and Seman › c characteris › cs of Lamma and its parallels in Pales › nian Arabic ( PA ) in Galilee , compared to Standard Arabic ( SA ) . SA Grammarians consider Lamma as a condi › on noun or a temporal adverb . Lamma linked to two clauses , and used with past tense verbs . It called "Lamma l ›› niyya" because it has the same func › on and meaning of " ›› na" . SA includes several parallels of Lamma and ›› na , like : "yawma" and "waqta" . PA saved the temporal adverb "Lamma" , while it doesn't save other adverbs , like : " ›› na" and "Mundhu" . PA includes also Lamma parallels , like : "y › m" , "waqt" and "s ›› it" . In many cases , the syntac › c behavior of Lamma and its parallels in PA is different than in SA . The main syntac › c difference is the large quan › ty of the PA structure "lamman" , which is composed of "Lamma" and " › an" , while it is rare in SA .
